Sarah's Card Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. It has been well over a month since I scrap booked a 12x12 LO so I decided to give the Sarah's Cards sketch a go to break me back in to it.

Here is the sketch.

I decided as I had a lot of my Christmas papers and products to find out one of my photos from last Christmas to scrap. I am still working on finishing my 2012 project life album. I only have the last two weeks of 2013 to scrap and that is a whole year done.

I used some left overs on her and also some old Basic Grey papers. The background is from the Close Knit, Crate Paper collection and the large wood veneer is from the Decmeber Scraptastic kit. I love how this has come out and like how I have used some leftover glitter papers which I punched out snowflakes from.

I liked the sketch but I could not get the title to look right just floating so I built an embellishment cluster on one side. It really helped me to get my mojo back. This LO took just under an hour to make.

Thanks for looking and I will be back with more blogging soon.

Happy New Year to you.

Digging out old Stash

I have been sifting through my stash to find up my Christmas stash from last year and come across some older bits and piece. One of the things I found was a packet of Basic Grey rub-ons, so I decided to put them to use.

I marked out the space of the photo and started laying the rub-ons down and building up a border. I also added some stamps and mist and letter stickers. As you will see my favourite alpha stamps showed up again.

Do you have anything in your stash that you should dig out and use? I think I need to find a use for ribbon as I found a load in my stash.

Thanks for Looking

Coffee Love

I said I would be back with more kit information and LOs. This page was made using some of the embellishments from the bi-monthly Quirky Kits. It's a UK based kit club and I have only had one kit so far the September/October one, but really like the handmade elements it includes. Its a bit different form what I normally use, and it inspired me to use my masks and stamps to create a background.

It features two of my favourite stamps at the moment the Stampin Up coffee cup and the Alpha stamps from Paperchase that I used for the title. The background paper is from Amy Tangerines new collection and I love the detail around the edge.

I love how this came out and it has helped me get back in the mood to scrap.

Thanks for Looking

Crop LO's

Atthe monthly crop on Saturday at Bramford, I took along a lot less than I normally do, one reason being I had not sorted out my bits from the move and another being the fact I was not prepared. I grabbed a couple of kit club boxes and headed off.

I was only able to stay for half the day as I was getting fibre optic broadband put in during the afternoon, but I still managed to get 2 LO completed from scratch. Both to go in my USA album.

The first is from the VIP Warner Brothers tour. I used a lot of different textures on this LO, cloth frames, wood, doilies and embroidery floss.

This is about our hotel in LA. I used more of the Maggie Holmes fabric frames on here and lots of lovely Websters Pages goodies on here.

I will do a small review on my new kit clubs in another post as I have been trying out a couple of different kits since leaving Studio Calico.

My monthly reminder to blog!!

It seems every Bramford crop I am reminded that I have neglected this blog, so I have set myself to blog more often. I have now finished moving the majority of my belongings back to my parents and this of course includes my crafting stuff. I now have set up my crafting area in my room and even managed a couple of LO's, which I will share below.

This LO is for my America album and took me over two hours to make. I had not scrapped for 3 weeks and it took a lot if effort to get back in to it. I am happy with the final result and also used some of my new Amy Tangerine Stash.

This LO came together much quicker and was inspired by the Instax Polaroids that I had from a weekend with my bestie. I used a lot of the Here and Now Echo Park collection alongside some Cut and Paste too. I love how this came out and it is currently out in a frame on my wall.

I will be back with the LOs that I completed at the crop later this week and a round out of a couple of new kit clubs that I am now subscribing too.

Thanks for Looking.

A few recent LO's

Well unfortunately I am in bed sick at the moment, but on the plus side it has given me a chance to catch up with the blogs I follow and to also write a couple of posts. I really must stop neglecting my blog so much.

So I have not been scrapping as much recently, due to having to spend the week back at my parents due to work and then only have the weekends at the caravan , I am yet to work out where will be best to keep my scrapping stash. I also have had a few adventure filled weekends as well which has not left time for scrapping.

So here we go a few recent LO trying to use up older stash before I break into all my lovely new stash.

These are a couple of LO completed at the Bramford crop.

I also am back filling in my 2012 album for the end of the year so have a few random subject LOs too.

They are a random bunch of LO's but I am at the stage of just in filling parts of albums. So thanks for dropping by and I will be back soon with more updates of life.

Thanks for looking

Love at first sight

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week. At the weekend I went to my regular monthly crop, I have not been for a couple of months and it was nice to catch up with friends and be crafty.

I am normally reserved when it comes to the shop at the crop, but treated myself to a couple of bits. One of these bits was a sheet of paper from Prima, not a manufacturer that I normally use as they are not my style. But I love this frame paper.

So I set about creating a page, with the aim to fill all the frame with bits and pieces. First up I measured for a few photos and then resized them in photoshop.

Then I just went through my stash, mainly with wood veneer stash. I used my stamp collection and ink to colour the veneers.

I love how it turned out and so glad I brought another sheet as I am going to enjoy cutting it up for future LOs.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting

Feeling bright and inky

Well I decided to pay my blog a visit again an show some recent LO that I created. I am trying to de-stash some of my older paper collections while I still love them. I already have treated myself to a few bits of the new collections coming out, but I am trying to not go overboard. I did however ahead but if a spend up on thickers in TkMaxx this week, 4 packs for £4.99 which were a bargain. I am still hoping they will get some AC albums in to help replace mine that got ruined, but not seen them in my local one. Anyway on to the LOs.

I decided to try and use up the rest of the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook paper pad I had (also a TkMaxx buy). I decided to dress it up a bit and add some ink to the background. I used sequin waste for this which I love at the moment, I seem to have lost my brought templates somewhere in my stash.

These LO are all for my USA album which I have now made a start on. This week I have created 12 LO for it, and with the Bank Holiday weekend hopefully I can create a few more.

This was the first, it's a photo from Warner Brothers Studio in LA.

This was some lovely artwork on the Las Vegas Monorail.

And this another from the evening we spent at the Warner Brothers Studio in LA.

I am really enjoying being productive at the moment and am inspired to use up my old stash so I can treat myself to a few new bits. I am missing the Studio Calico monthly Kits but its not like I don't have any other stash.

Hope you can all spend some time crafting this weekend.

Sarahs Cards Sketch Challenge - August

Well I am back with another update I have tried something a little bit different, working from a sketch. I have been stalking Sarahs Cards for the new CHA releases and stopped by their blog and thought I would give the August Sketch challenge a go.

I struggle to use multiple photos on a LO so this really prompted me to do this, I cut down some existing 4x6 prints that I had. I also set about digging through my stash to try and use some bits up I have been hoarding. The thickers on here I have had for 2+ years and I have managed to use 3 different Amy Tangerine paper collections on here too.

Does anyone else find it a real challenge to use sketches, I think you can see these are related, but definitely not followed it to the letter.

Well I have another day off so I hope to get some more scrapping done.

Thanks for Looking

LO response to nicolejones911 YouTube giveaway

I have not posted on here in a while, but just wanted to show a LO I made for a giveaway challenge on YouTube. I love watching process videos and find them really inspirational, Nicole is one of my favourite scrapers.

Here is the LO I completed. It needed to contain the following things

  1. Use of a mask
  2. Use of 3 different alphas in a title
  3. Use of mist or paint
  4. Use of embellishments
  5. Use of layers

I am really happy how it came out, this will be going in my 2012 album which I am trying to get finished. I seem to stop scrapping in October last year and now want to catch up. I have taken advantage of a couple of photo printing offers and now have 175 photos to get in to my albums

I will be back soon with more LO's

30 Layout Challenge

I thought I should pop on and show this blog of mine some love. I have been doing lots of scrapping recently so thought I would share.

A few weeks ago I was chatting with my friend @Pollyscraps on Instagram, we had both had a short out of our stash and decided that we were hoarding things too much and we needed to use them rather than just keep them to look at. We decided that we would make 30 layouts before we were allowed to buy anything new, she had her Studio Calico kits still, but I have just cancelled mine, but we had to use old stash on our layouts.

It was great fun to just scrap without really thinking about saving papers etc and just trying to use it up, the element of competition also helped me. We have picked up a couple of others who are also completing the challenge @michelleluvstigger and @ohmandee. Their are a couple of Facebook groups doing 50 layouts before you can buy new stash which I am tempted to try or I may complete this again in the future.

So here are the 30 Layouts that I completed, it took me 17 days and I completed my Paris album in the process. All theses pages still need the journaling added, but I have done that as I put them in my album.

I really enjoyed this challenge, and I thought I was going to go mad with my shopping, but realised that I onlyreally needed to stock up on embellishments rather than papers. I even resisted some bargains in TKMaxx last week, 12x12 crate paper pad for £7.99!!

I have received one of my lot of purchases and have another to come, I also need to stock up on a refill for my ATG gun as I go through a whole one making these LOs.

If anyone else wants to give this challenge a go then please join in, we are posting on Instagram, but you can do it on your blog too and let us know.

Bramford Crop Challenge -Coasters

It has been a few months since we have had a Bramford challenge to complete but last month we were given an odd challenge a paper coaster to alter.

I will admit it was several things before it came the below wall hanging, but I am very happy with the finial result. We were making these with a particular person in mind,I had Ang so I knew going Girly would be the key.

The prima doll stamp is something that is not what I would immediately drawn too, but I have seen a few pop up online and when Karen at the group brought hers in, I fell a bit in love. I stamped a couple on white card and then scanned them into my computer so I could print on patterned paper for layering. I then added a cluster of embellishments and covered the coaster with patterned paper and layered on a doily.

I am pleased to report that Ang loved it and it was great to see how the others interpreted the coaster check their blogs, linked in the side bar.

Playing Mixed Media

Well I am back with another LO I have created recently. I decided to add some paint to my background as a bases which is not something I do often, the paper already had a distressed background.

I raided my scraps basket and used lots of odds and ends I had on my desk. I then decided to alter some of my huge stash of wood veneers. I used a lovely shadow ink from Hero Arts which is a lovely saturated colour and looks great on the wood.

My scraps basket is currently overflowing so I will be creating some more LO from it soon.
